If you’re following me on social media, you know we just got back from Vegas, again. And you know that usually Vegas is a free for all for me because the food scene there is just insane and I let myself have it all. I don’t drink so all my calories literally go to good food and mainly desserts.
This time was a little different – while I let myself splurge a lot still, I kept it in check a bit too and was lucky enough to receive a package from Know Foods the day we were leaving. I brought along some of the snacks and they were such a big help during the road trip there and during our stay!
First, my teenage sister in laws are the organic hippie millennial types that try to eat only good ingredients (even though I’ve seen them sneak an Oreo here and there) and their brother (my husband) doesn’t get that at all, which annoys them to no end. So, when I showed up with “good for you” cookies for them, I was instantly the cool sister in law. Thanks, Know Foods!
Also, my mom has Celiacs disease which means these gluten free treats also made me the thoughtful daughter! Again, thanks Know Foods!
Second, the people at Know Foods are SO nice! They have great customer service and whoever runs their Instagram is so sweet! They sent me a package that was well beyond what I was expecting with so many different things to try. Really, top notch service.
Ok now let’s get into the products…
Of course, I want to talk about the cookies first. I am the Cookie Monster Mom, after all. So these cookies are gluten free, grain free, dairy free, and a whole lot more “free” but most importantly to me they are paleo AND Keto friendly. Score!
They sent me three flavors: chocolate chip, double chocolate, and cinnamon. My favorite was the double chocolate, no surprise there. My husband’s favorite was the cinnamon, also no surprise, he said it tasted like coffee cake to him. Tip: I heated the cookies up in the microwave for about ten seconds to get them soft and melty and it was the best idea I’ve ever had.
The cookies are HUGE (like the size of my hand), thick, and a little dense (some people might say that’s a bad thing but to me that makes them more filling so it’s more of a meal than a snack and I like that). They were a little “bready” my husband said (as he was on his last bite so clearly that didn’t deter him from eating it). They are delicious, overall, and I love that I don’t have to feel guilty for eating them! I will definitely be reordering these.
They also sent us the garlic and herb Know Better thins. We had seen these on the Keto Guido’s page (yes, that’s a Jersey Shore reference) so we were excited to try them. Like the cookies they are thick and dense so if you want something thin and flaky it’s probably not for you. On their own they are good (I’m not a huge fan of this kind of snack so that probably affected my judgement a little). BUT, put some cheese on them (or my husband did tuna) and man do they make a good snack. I will say, I was pleasantly surprised.
Pancake Mix & Syrup
If you follow me at all, you know I make a protein pancake with peanut butter and calorie free syrup EVERY morning. Lately, I had been considering getting rid of my usual syrup because it didn’t have any real ingredients just chemicals. I had no idea Know Foods made syrup so I’m so freaking glad they sent me this. It’s delicious!
Their instructions say to simply add water (or almond milk) to the pancake mix, but you guys know I always add an egg too for the extra fat. So I did, and it turned out great! I’ve never felt so good about eating a pancake. I will probably try it with just almond milk too just to see how it tastes.
Overall, I am very impressed with Know Foods. They have taken real, diet friendly ingredients and made them into delicious treats. This is a game changer for anyone with dietary restrictions, on a specific diet, or just looking to clean up their diet. I can’t wait to try more of their products!
P.S. for all my mom followers – most of their products are made with chia seeds and flax seeds – great for your breast milk supply!
